The Tecno Phantom X, Samsung Galaxy A72 and OPPO Reno 5 smartphones have a lot of similar specifications. In fact all three smartphones have an AMOLED Full HD screen, 90Hz refresh rate screen, can shoot 4K videos and have USB Type-C fast charging. However there are some differences when we look closely at the specs.
In this article I will show you what the differences and similarities between these three smartphones are. Lets start with the Tecno Phantom X.
Tecno Phantom X
The Tecno Phantom X is a 6.7″/170mm screen device with a 50MP triple rear camera setup, 4700mAh battery and two front cameras . This is the only smartphone in this series with a curved screen, 91.3% screen to body ratio and a dual front camera setup.
The recommended retail price of the Tecno Phantom X is Ksh49,999 in Kenya. This is around USD462 going by *todays rate. Buyers will get a free Gimbal with every purchase of Phantom X, VIP service experience and 180 extra days of screen warranty.

OPPO Reno 5
The OPPO Reno 5 is a 6.4 Inch/163mm smartphone with a 64MP Quad rear camera setup at the back, it has a 4300mAh battery and 128GB Internal storage. Like the Phantom X, the OPPO Reno 5 also has a Full HD AMOLED screen. The front camera on this device is a dot in screen 44MP lens that can only shoot videos at a maximum quality 1080p.
The OPPO Reno 5 is selling for Ksh41,999 (*USD388) in Kenya and comes with the free Enco W11 earbuds.

Samsung Galaxy A72
And Lastly the Samsung Galaxy A72 is a 6.7″/169.5mm screen device with a 64MP Quad rear camera setup, 5000mAh battery and a wide range of memory configurations that include 128GB+6GB RAM, 128GB+8GB RAM, 256GB+6GB RAM and 256GB+8GB RAM.
The dot notch front camera on the Galaxy A72 is positioned at the center of the Super AMOLED Full HD display that also has a 90Hz refresh rate.
The choice of colours in the Galaxy A12 series is very simple. From the left in the image above we have Awesome White, Awesome Violet, Awesome Blue and Awesome Black colours. And Yes Samsung has the word Awesome just before the colour.
As for the price the Samsung A72 goes for Ksh57,000 (*USD526) for the 256+8GB Model and Kh54,000 (*USD499) for the 128GB+8GB version.

From the table above you can see that Phantom X scored 9 out of 21 categories while the OPPO Reno 5 and Samsung Galaxy A72 sores 5 and 8 respectively. All smartphones were evenly matched in 5 categories.
While the Tecno Phantom X has a curved screen, FM Radio and dual Front Camera setup with dual flash, its competitors also has some amazing features. For example its only the OPPO Reno 5 that has a USB Type-C 3.1 capabilities and 50 Watt fast charging. On the other hand, the Samsung A72 has the biggest battery capacity at 5000mAh and has stereo speakers. Both the Samsung and OPPO devices have the Snapdragon processors too.
Out to the 3 smartphones, the Samsung A72 is the most expensive.
