The Infinix Note 7 camera setup consists of a 48MP quad camera setup at the rear and a 16MP Front camera with display flashlight. This is what w are going to discuss today. For a general review of the Infinix Note 7, I would suggest that you read the this article together with the Infinix Note 7 Gaming review.
Since the Infinix Note 7 has 64GB storage, there will be space for all the 48MP photos that the user will take. Another interesting feature to talk about is the Super Night mode that takes good pictures in very low light conditions.
Picture Size
There are 3 picture sizes available to choose from on any photography mode. The default size is 4:3 which has the highest quality details. The other sizes are 1:1 which performs well on social media posts and lastly 20.5:9.
Interestingly missing is the 16:9 picture size. You can even see this on my unboxing and first experience video. Since the video is in 16:9 aspect ratio, all the sample photos on that video have black bars on either side or top and bottom.
48MP
By default the selected picture size straight out of the box is 12MP at 4:3 aspect ratio. This setting takes good photos but if you want to take good detailed photos then you have to select the 48MP tab on the top of the camera application.
Here is a sample photo that I took with 48MP selected. I chose these leaves because I can zoom to any point and get some fairly good details even while on the computer.
The original file size of the image above is 12MB. The file size is so big that I had to resize it to upload it here. Compare that to the 12MP photo which is only 3.24MB.
Macro Lens
The 2MP lens at the rear is for shooting Macro photos with a focus distance of 4cm. By default, the picture size selected is 4:3. If changed to 1:1 or 20.5:9, the picture quality will be limited to 1MP only.

Here is a similar shot but with the 1:1 picture size selected. Like I said before, this file size performs better on social media sites. Even YouTube recommends a 1:1 file size for their YouTube Post feature.
Wide Angle
Normally the Macro lens is usually used for taking wide angle photos. On the Note 7 however there is no wide angle feature. The workaround this is to choose the wide aspect ratio of 20.5:9 to give the final product a wide angle feel. The short image below with a lot of detail makes you feel like this is image is a wide angle image. I took this photo with the 12MP feature.
Front 16MP Camera
The 16MP front camera with display flashlight takes very nice photos to be honest. here is a front camera sample selfie.
And here is a similar photo taken with the beauty mode.
The Front camera also takes very good videos as well as photos. The video taken by the front camera is of 1080p quality at 29.54 frames per second.
Video
As for the rear camera, it also shoots video at 1080p quality but at a higher frame rate of 29.60. The camera is not constantly hunting for focus when you shoot videos and that is very important. This gives you nice clean videos as the end product and this makes the Infinix Note 7 a very good candidate for making YouTube videos.

Super Night
The main camera is also utilized in taking super night pictures. Holding the camera steady is key to taking great super night photos. This is because there is some processing going on in order to get the best possible photo. For example this photo was taken using the normal AI CAM mode with the flash OFF.
This one was taken using the super night feature. Now note that super night cannot take photos in complete darkness. However the outcome is much better as you can see below.

Fun Camera Apps
X-boy and Magic line are two fun applications that come preinstalled on the Infinix Note 7. X-boy inserts a cartoon character into your physical surroundings by using the camera application. On the other hand Magic line lets you draw 3D figures on your surroundings.
Rotating the camera around X-boy and your magic line drawing will give you another angle of the same subject. Here is a short demo of the two applications.
