





The Infinix HOT 12 Play and Tecno Spark 8P smartphones have a lot of similar specifications. Each smartphone has its own strengths, for example the Infinix HOT 12 Play has a 6000mAh battery and up to 7GB RAM with MemFusion Extended RAM Technology. On the other hand, the Tecno Spark 8P has a 50MP triple rear camera setup with quad flash and a Full HD+ Display. In this article I will highlight the differences and similarities between the HOT 12 Play and the Spark 8P. The price comparison is at the end of this article.
Tecno Spark 8P

The Tecno Spark 8P is a 6.6 Inch/169mm Full HD+ display device with 4GB RAM, 128GB of internal storage, 50MP Triple rear camera and a side fingerprint scanner incorporated in the power button. This phone comes in a compact packaging because it has a compact charger included. Here is my unboxing video of the same.
The Tecno Spark 8P is available in two memory versions, 4GB+128GB which is retailing for KES18,499 (USD164*) and 4GB+64GB which is retailing for KES16,599 (USD147*).

As far as colours go, The Spark 8P is available in Turquoise Cyan, Iris Purple, Atlantic Blue and Tahiti Gold from the left in the image above. The version I unboxed above is the Tahiti Gold version.

Infinix HOT 12 Play

On the other hand the Infinix HOT 12 Play is a 6.82″/173mm HD device with a 13MP Dual rear camera setup, 6000mAh battery and a USB Type C port for charging and data transfer. The Tecno Spark 8P and Infinix HOT 12 Play both have an 8MP waterdrop notch front camera with flash.

One of the major difference that you can also see right away is with the rear camera setups. The Tecno Spark 8P has a wide and smooth camera bump area while HOT 12 Play has a slimmer more reserved camera bump that houses the Dual Camera setup and Quad Flash.

The HOT 12 Play is available in 4 colours namely Racing Black, Horizon Blue, Daylight Green and Champagne Gold as seen in the image below. I have the Racing Black version.

Out of the 19 Categories the HOT 12 Play scored 8 while Spark 8P Scored 3. The phones were evenly matched in 8 categories.
The Spark 8P excelled in the display quality, rear camera set up and speaker setup. On the other hand the Infinix HOT 12 Play 12 excelled in the bigger battery, Extended RAM, USB interface, big screen to body ratio and a higher display refresh rate.
Conclusion
These two phones are very evenly matched in specifications as well as price too. The 128GB+4GB versions cost exactly the same. The only lower priced phone was the 64+4GB HOT 12 Play version although the price difference is only by Ksh100.
