Microsoft Lumia 430 DUAL SIM review

Early May Microsoft Lumia launched three devices, the Microsoft Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL and Lumia 430. Here is the Lumia 430 review. Of all the three smartphones, the Lumia 430 was the cheapest (retailing at Ksh8, 850 and ) and the smallest. The phone I have for review is bright orange in colour and has a USB port at the bottom centre and 3.5mm audio jack at the top right side. Whats amazing is that you can change the colour of this phone simply by replacing the back cover that comes off easily from a secured position.

If you buy the Lumia 430 phone you stand a chance of winning a Chevrolet cruze or a Microsoft Lumia XL device as a result of the #AchieveMore campaign.

With the #AchieveMore campaign, a national consumer promotion was launched to reward customers with five Chevrolet Cruze cars and 40 Lumia 640 XL devices to be won over the promotion period which will run up to 30th June.

To participate in the consumer campaign, all one needs to do is purchase any Lumia phone with a valid 12 months warranty in Kenya, activate it and send a text message containing the IMEI number to 22860 during the period.

With a screen size of 4 inches and a length of 120.5mm, the Lumia 430 fits right into the users palm for easy navigation with the same hand plus the display resolution of WVGA(800*400) makes sure even the smallest of texts are clear.

Although it does not have 4G network, the Lumia 430 has 3.5G network which is more than enough to surf the web, visit social media sites and also skype.

Both the  SIM slots are micro SIM and the SIM cards can easily inserted without removing the removable battery.  Talking of batteries the Lumia 430 has a removable 1500mAh battery which can last a whole day of serious use listening to music and chatting on social media.

Now to the main specs

Performance

The Lumia 430 smartphone is powered by a Qual comm Snapdragon 200 processor running at 1.2Ghz.

Operating system

The Lumia 430 uses Windows Phone 8.1 OS with Lumia Denim which can be upgrades to Windows 10 once its available.

Camera

Quite a setback because the Main camera is only 2.0MP and the front camera is a VGA 0.3MP.  The camera is good for taking photos in daylight but without a flash you would need a lot of artificial light to take any images in the dark.

Storage

With a microSD slot expandable up to 128GB, the Lumia 430 comes with 8GB internal storage with 1GB RAM.

And finally just like the other Lumia devices, with the Lumia 430 you get to enjoy One Note, One Office and 30GB One drive cloud storage.
