The Infinix Hot 3 will be launched soon and it will have much more features than its predecessor, the Infinix Hot 2 which as you may remember is an android one device. The Infinix Hot 2 was a very sleek and light device, perfect for its price of Ksh8,999. So will the Infinix Hot 3 carry on with the android one operating system? The answer is No, it will run on the Android Lollipop 5.1 which is customised to provide XUI. That’s the same operating system on the Infinix Note 2 as well as the Infinix Zero 3. So I expect cool features like Magazine screen lock, Xender and File manager, all of which were missing in the Infinix Hot 2.
Infinix Hot 3 Specifications
Display Size: 5.5 inches HD display, this is 0.5 Inches larger than the Hot 2
Android Version: Android 5.1 Lollipop customised to produce XUI
Processor: 1.3 GHz Quad-core on 1GB RAM (2GB version will also be available for the HOT 3 Pro)
As for the Storage Space: we are all used to 16 GB, no change here but it will be expandable with an SD card
Network: Supports 3G as well as 4G for the Hot 3 Pro
Camera: 8MP at the back with a 2MP front facing camera with a wide angle lens and soft flash

Battery: 3000 mAh, could have done better here but with that screen size and CPU it will last a day. But I expect the battery to drain faster on the 4G version while using 4G.
Interesting Features
Just say cheese and the soft flash will generate a Hot Selfie.
84 degree angle front Camera lens for group selfies
Responsive experience with high precission processing which prevents glare
From the embedded tweet by Infinix we can see that the bezel area at the top is slimmer than the one on the Hot 2. Bezel area is that area on the screen that is not touch responsive.
Price and Availability
Sources from Infinix reveal that the phone will be around 5 dollars more than the Infinix Hot 2 so we expect a price equal to or slightly less than Ksh9600. Just like all other Infinix Phones, it will be available on Jumia although Physical Brick stores are also stocking Infinix phones nowadays. One such example is Tricom
What we don’t know is the Size of the SIM to be used, will it be the Twin Micro Sim or a Micro SIM as well as normal SIM? What about the back cover and battery, will they be removable? Keep it here for a review of the Infinix Hot 3. The official launch date of the Infinix Hot 3 will be the 22nd of March 2016.
More Good News
Infinix will launch 6 more smartphones this year. On a personal note I wish they could continue with the bigger battery capacity phones like the Hot Note and Note 2. Imagine if Infinix launched a smartphone with the battery life and non existent heating of a Hot Note, Camera prowess, RAM and CPU of the Zero 3, screen size of a Note 3 and the weight of the Hot 2? That would knock the competition off the top tables especially with lower prices and the good quality of Infinix phones.
