Tecno has been working on a new user interface, Tecno HiOS that will be used in their future smartphone models. It is rumoured that the Tecno Boom J8 will be the first Tecno smartphone to have HiOS.
Have you ever checked out your friends phone and found out that you almost share the same user interface? The icons look the same, the drag down menu looks the same and even the music player looks the same. The only difference maybe the size of the phone and the model. Well this is set to change with HiOs because Tecno HiOS will have repainted icons for frequently used apps. Third party apps (apps that users download on their own) will also be added. Here is a preview of what to expect.
Since the Tecno Boom J8 will be built primarily as a music smartphone, HiOS will also change how users will interact with the Boom Player. The featured image is the leaked photo from Tecno of how the Boom player will look like.
Tecno Boom J8 Features
These are some of the features to expect on the Tecno Boom J8 to be lauched in Kenya very soon. Its not yet confirmed these will be the specifications but just a teaser.
- 5.5 Inch screen,16GB storage, 1GB RAM, 13/5MP camera.
- Android Lollipop (although it would be very cool if it came with Android Marshmallow)
- Rumours are going around that the Tecno Boom J8 will come with headphones. Even Tecno Kenya will not confirm that. If that is true then what about the Earphones? Lets wait and see
@techsawa,we heard those rumors too ?? https://t.co/jU3b7nXiyo

What New Features does HiOS have?
Dynamic icons
Dynamic icons on the new HiOS will have features like wallpaper changing with a click.
The Clock and Calendar widgets will show the current time and date. This will be a very important feature because its lacking in many other smartphones like some Samsung Galaxy phones.
A faster method of clearing the cache apps in order to release more space for memory card in cool flash.
Repainted icons that match with the HiOS theme.
System Layout
HiOS will also have 3 layouts as the basic user interface. These are List, Up and Down and finally Grids.
From the image above I can deduce that List may be associated with a playlist on a music player while Up and down may appear in the time system manager pane. Grids will appear as apps and Tecno says that this system layout will maintain a simple interactive system.
Vivid Multicoloured wallpapers
One question on my mind about the dynamic wallpapers is if the users will be able to control which wallpapers will show and which wallpapers will be hidden. But lets wait for the Tecno Boom J8 and find out.
